When I came back to work from a run today one of the Retrofit girls told me she had started a 10k training program. “When is your race?” I asked her. “I don’t know,” she answered.
Everyone makes New Year’s resolutions or thinks about making New Year’s resolutions. Even if we don’t believe we will reach our goals or even begin to try to reach our goals, we resolve to do something. We come to a definite or earnest decision to do something. Or if we don’t exactly resolve, we think about resolving. We talk about resolving.
I’m a little late. It’s the third week of January and I have only just started my New Year’s fitness resolutions. The first week of the year was a write-off. I was back at work busy getting Retrofit’s new Pilates programs launched. The next week the kids were back to school and I simply could not organize myself to get the lunches made, the backpacks found and retrieve my running shoes from wherever it was I left them.
